DESCRIPTION:Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been transforming various indu
 stries and creating new possibilities for businesses. We will explore the 
 impacts of AI in the language industry and freelance work\, exploring both
  the benefits and drawbacks of this rapidly changing landscape.\n\nWhat is
  the impact of AI on the language Industry and how should union members re
 spond?\n\nEugenia Alejandra Strazzolini\, MCI\, MA\, C. Tran.\n\nEugenia S
 trazzolini is a highly trained sworn/certified translator\, conference int
 erpreter\, and consultant interpreter with a robust academic background\, 
 including National Sworn Translator of English-Spanish from the National U
 niversity of Cordoba\, a Graduate Diploma in General Interpreting and a Ma
 ster of Conference Interpreting from York University\, as well as a Gradua
 te Diploma in Specialized Translation into English from the University of 
 Belgrano. Additionally\, Eugenia holds a Bachelor of English Language and 
 Literature from the National University of Cordoba.\n\n As a versatile li
 nguist\, Eugenia is a pre-candidate of AIIC\, and she is certified by mult
 iple prestigious organizations\, including ATIO (Canada)\, CTINB (Canada)\
 , CTPPC (Argentina)\, AATI (Argentina)\, and ATA (USA). As an IRB-accredit
 ed interpreter in Canada\, Eugenia consistently demonstrates expertise in 
 high-level language services.\n\nWith over 23 years of experience in the l
 anguage services industry\, Ms Strazzolini has worked across diverse marke
 ts and clients\, including prestigious multinational companies\, fortune 1
 00 companies\, and governments and governmental authorities in Argentina\,
  Bolivia\, Chile\, Uruguay\, Spain\, Germany\, England\, the US\, and Cana
 da. After practicing for 15 years in Argentina\, where she also owned a tr
 anslation agency\, Eugenia relocated to Canada\, where she continues her p
 rolific professional career as a translator\, conference interpreter\, and
  consultant interpreter.\n\nIn addition to their extensive interpreting an
 d translation work\, Eugenia has also shared their expertise as an assista
 nt lecturer of Legal Translation at the National University of Cordoba\, f
 urther solidifying their influence and reputation within the industry.\n\n
 &nbsp\;\n\nEthan Clarke\n\nEthan is a strategic organizer and project plan
 ner with more than two decades of experience in the North American labour 
 movement. He founded Campaign Gears Ltd. in 2012\, combining the fight for
  social justice with a passion for digital technology (he loves making dat
 abases\, he admits it). In that role\, he has helped more than 100 unions 
 and non-profits build better campaigns with strategy development\, trainin
 g\, and\, with the help of a team of contractors\, the production of campa
 ign assets.\n\nRecently\, he also served as Campaign Strategist for the Ca
 nadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW)\, advising the national union on max
 imizing its campaigning efforts. \n\nFrom 2013 to 2018\, he was involved 
 with the Canadian Freelance Union in various roles\, including Organizer\,
  Vice President\, and President.\n\nFrom 2006 to 2012\, he was a Community
  Organizer and Organizing Coordinator for UNITE HERE and\, ultimately\, Na
 tional Organizing Director of Workers United. During this time\, he oversa
 w several large\, successful organizing drives. \n\nHe has also served as
  an organizer for several unions\, including PSAC\, CAW\, and the CSN. \n
 \nHe began his career with an undergraduate degree with a joint major in P
 olitical Studies and Computer Studies from Trent University. He also holds
  a certificate in website development from OCAD University.
